lesson loop 1.15.15

Middle School - "Job"
We began a new mini-series on suffering, and we started by looking at Job.

Big Idea: When we suffer, it is not the why that is important, but the who and how.

1. When we suffer, it is important to focus on WHO is wise and in control!

Job 38:1-7
  • God is the powerful Creator
  • God is perfect in understanding and wisdom
  • God is eternal
  • He is mighty and sovereign
  • He is always right and just and fair

2. When we suffer, it is important to focus on HOW we should respond.

Job 1:20-22

  • Job grieves
  • Job worships
  • Job recognizes all he had as gifts from God’s good hand.
  • Job recognizes that God’s goodness and glory has not been lessened through all of this.
  • Job maintains his integrity. (does not sin in anger toward God or lose his faith)

High School - Proverbs - money

Big Idea: If we want to live in a skillful, Christ-like way, we will think about and use money in a way that glorifies God.
